Congratulations on starting at onebite! What are you most looking forward to?
I was drawn to the marketing agency life as I thrive in a fast-paced environment, the variety of projects, the creativity and the innovative way of thinking. The work that is delivered at onebite is fully integrated and no two days are the same. A project’s requirements can change suddenly and urgent tasks can arrive unexpectedly – you are certainly kept on your toes! One of onebite’s key values is collaboration; everyone is working towards a common goal to achieve our clients’ marketing objectives and exceed expectations. I am genuinely really excited to get stuck in, win new clients and to become an integral part of the onebite agency team.
Did you always want to work in Marketing?
After I graduated university with an English degree, I knew I wanted to be in an industry where I could clearly communicate my ideas, but to also have the opportunity to write compelling, valuable content – so naturally, marketing and communications felt like the perfect fit! Marketing is an extremely exciting industry to be in and the typical marketer’s role is constantly evolving. The primary driver of the marketing evolution is technology, with today’s digitally connected consumers using smartphones, iPads, laptops, and even glasses and watches to access content. As a result, marketing needs to provide compelling content and activity across these different devices and platforms. We must subsequently ensure we remain savvy about technology, data and analytics to really create and execute campaigns that cut through and generate results. It is safe to say that the world of marketing is an exciting place to be!
What has been the most rewarding moment of your career to date?
I have had a lot of career highlights, but I would say my most rewarding moment was in 2018 when I was supporting IBM with an extremely high value, enormously sensitive, and demanding, pitch. IBM successfully got through to the final stages of the bid (which is currently still under review). I personally received the most wonderful feedback from the senior IBM bid team which still makes me smile to this day!
“You have brought the best of a highly strategic set of opportunities for IBM and I cannot thank you personally enough. I’ve learnt a huge amount working with you – you’ve been patient and understanding, and have rigorously bridged between the vagueness of our intentions and the crispness of the final message. Thank you for all the effort you have put in for us, coping with our last minute demands and helping us be as creative as we wanted to be.”
What adventures do you have planned for the rest of this year?
I am going to New York with my boyfriend in August. It will be the third time I have been to the city and each time I go back, I fall in love with it a little more. I am also going to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands in September with my Mum for our annual mother and daughter trip to get some sun, sea and well deserved mojitos!
Describe yourself in three words…
Conscientious, positive and fun (OR, crazy cat lady!)
